I was at my heaviest weight here and was not liking the way I looked.

Someone in the gym asked me the other day; “Are you training for something?”  I quickly let them know, I am training for the rest of my life.  I have to start going hard at everything that I do from here on out.  When you see me go hard at the gym is because, I keep pictures of myself when I was at my heaviest weight.  Looking at them reminds me how fast I could slip back into complacent and go back to the way I was.

Why I Train

I train for the accolades of good health and improvement, mind, body, and soul.  Physically you see me at the gym through the pictures and occasional short videos that I may post.  However, you don’t see behind the scenes.  The studying, the sacrifices, the pain, and sometimes the loneliness that goes with the journey sometimes when one is on a mission.

Path Traveled Alone

Sure, you have your family and friends that are there for you.  The difference is this, when you are ready for a thing and commit one thousand percent to it.  No one will be as committed as you.  Hence, the lonely path sometimes has to be traveled alone.

I learned a long time ago, sometimes whey you are on a journey you may have to leave some people behind because where you are going they cannot tag along.  It’s alright to shed all negativity and embrace the positive things in life.


I am my own bench mark.  I look at what I have done last week, yesterday and try to improve upon it.   My biggest challenge is changing the way I eat and I am working on it.  Training myself to be more disciplined to make healthier choices.

I believe we can bench mark what we eat through following a set plan as to what we intake.  Some people count calories, some people simply eat with health in mind by learning what is good for the body.  I want to do just that!  Learn to have a healthier lifestyle.

Let’s not stop there, you can bench mark what you learn.  I believe we must continue to increase our knowledge in many areas.  This may require getting out of our comfort zone and learn something new.  You will feel so good to apply that new knowledge in your life and it will only empower you to increase your learning compacity.

Metrics can be applied in every aspect of our lives.  It’s time for you to bring it on.  Increase your metrics today!  Train for life!
